Health & Health care services
Health care institutions provide services to domestic and foreign tourists staying in the County of Istria, based on contractual obligations with the Croatian Health Insurance Fund. In case they need urgent medical care, tourists are entitled to health care under the same conditions as Croatian insured persons, provided that they have a valid European Health Insurance Card (EHIC). Domestic tourists receive health care based on a valid Croatian Health Insurance Fund card.
All persons, during their stay in Croatia, will be provided with emergency health care in accordance with the International Conventions on Social Security. Tourists will submit their European Health Insurance Card or a certificate thereof and deliver it to the Croatian Health Insurance Fund in Pula, Besenghijeva 1, phone: +385 213 055. If a tourist has an insurance policy, if necessary, he/she shall inform his insurance company, which will then cover the costs incurred.
Tourists can also use the services of private physicians and dentists (at a fee). According to the above conditions in the area of the Medulin Riviera, you can use health care services in the following practices:
